I am a year and a half old today.
Keillor was the one that decided to not cooperate with our pictures this month. He didn't look at the camera at all. We even let him on the bed thinking that would help. Nope.
Of course my legs have been back in business the past few weeks now. I love kicking them when asked! I'll tolerate (and even have a little fun) on my stomach, but no crawling yet. I remember how to do it, but my legs aren't quite cooperating. In the last few days, I've started to enjoy kneeling while using a little step stool as a prop.
I still have to wear a brace while sleeping for a few more weeks. I don't have to wear it during naps, though. Mom and Dad have found me in some strange positions after nap time recently. It's so much fun to spread out in my crib!
My vocabulary continues to grow on a daily basis. I'll say anything if you ask and it often sounds pretty close! Last night I amazed Dad by saying "Good boy, Keillor" after he said it. Of course other times it's just another grunt. Not my fault if you can't hear correctly.
We haven't mentioned it recently on the blog, but books are still my favorite toys. And this past month it's become very clear that my favorite books involve the Pigeon from the Mo Willems series. I will seriously dig through piles of books until I find my buddy, Pigeon, and then I'll hand it to Mom or Dad to be read. And the really cool part: I'll actually pay attention while it's being read.
Of course I continue to try any foods that the grown ups are eating. Random favorites this month: Kashi whole grain puff cereal, licorice and whipped cream.
Official physical therapy sessions start on tomorrow (I will cry), but they'll help me get back to moving around quickly! Also, my year and a half doctor appointment is next week so we'll post stats at that point.

New car
Grandma Lila and Grandpa John sent me a car!
It's got bells, whistles, horns, and all sorts of other noises. The only thing it doesn't do is roll around. Dad says he's quite happy with that feature.
Ummm...I think the door is defective. It doesn't open!

Bows
I've finally reached the stage where bows or clips in my hair don't really bother me. But please don't tell me it's there. I do best when I completely forget it's up there!

Easter
I found my Easter basket! It was on a shelf out in the open. I hope the Easter Bunny gets tougher in future years.
Ball.
Mmmmmm...tastes like a book?
Take the picture quickly. These are not staying on my head!
Ready for summer time walks!

Keillor
One of the best parts about being out of my cast is that I can get much closer to Keillor!
You can see that he's just as excited.
Dad! Keillor doesn't want to play!
Picture intruder!

Softball
It was the last home softball game for Regis University on Sunday so Dad walked me over there after lunch. I really enjoy the games! The players yell and cheer a lot and they play great music between innings. The third basewoman is my favorite because she stands closest to our usual seats. I am good at saying "foul ball" and clapping when the crowd claps, too.
I lasted six of the seven innings before it was past my nap time and we had to walk home. Dad says that won't happen when I'm older because Lubanskys don't leave sporting events before they're over.

Go Regis!
I'm watching for foul balls so Dad will stay safe while futzing with the camera.
All set for the walk home!

Swing
Dad, Keillor and I were walking around the lake on Saturday morning when we passed the playground. I started to point and grunt which meant, "Dad, I haven't been on that swing in a few months. Let's give it a try!"
Dad says it's hard to get decent (in focus) pictures of a swinging baby with our little camera, but that's not the point. The point is that I loved it.

Recovery
It's been five days now since the cast came off. I'm enjoying being out of it, but my hip joints are still a bit tender. For the first couple days I couldn't sit upright on my own because my hips were sore and I didn't have the core strength. My abs are getting back to normal and the hips are bothering me less and less each day.
I've enjoyed playing on my stomach for a while each day, but I'm still a ways away from crawling again.

I'm fine when Mom or Dad place me in this position, but then my legs slowly give out and I'm stuck on my stomach.
I'm slowly starting to do some of my physical therapy exercises that I learned several months ago, as well. And my PT appointments will start up again in a week or two.

Tom Hanks' Academy Award winning film featuring Wilson
I've not sat in this chair since January 16th.
The cast came off very quickly this morning. I'm feeling pretty good. A little tender when getting moved around and my legs look like lizard skin!
I've lost a good deal of my core strength, but that'll come back quickly.
Today and tomorrow will be spent trying to feel better and then we'll get back to learning how to crawl!

Hair
I like to help towel dry my hair after bath time. But last night I got caught up in a good game of peek-a-boo!
Peek...
...a-boo!

Saturday morning
I helped Dad make waffles on Saturday morning...
Waiting patiently.
Smiling when asked.
Oooo! I'm so hungry I could eat this watch!
Drooling.
Wait a second...this looks too runny to be waffles. What sort of operation is this?!

Slapstick
Sorry for the lack of posts this week. We didn't have the camera out much this past weekend. But Mom, Dad and I had some fun with an empty wrapping paper tube on Sunday. Dad was letting it fall on his head. I'll let you decide how much I enjoyed it...
