Zoo visit

I took Mom and Dad to the zoo last weekend. They had a good time.

 To the monkeys!

But let's first stop here so I can play with the plants.

At least Dad and the gorilla are looking towards the camera.

And a bonus video!

1 year, 7 months

Monthly pictures are here! Neither Keillor or are are very good at sitting still lately, so Dad told Keillor to stay on the patio sofa and then locked me in between him and the arm of the sofa.

 Good boy, Keillor.

 Kiss!

Pouting after I realized it would be hard to escape.

 Getting a little bored, Dad.

 Say cheese!

Lots of excitement this past month. Of course the biggest deal is the fact that I'm crawling all over the place. Movement-wise, I'm back to where I was before going in my cast and working hard to get myself caught up to other kids my age. I really enjoy standing while holding onto something, but still need a hand from an adult to get myself all the way up. This week I've started to make advancements in crawling up steps, as well.

We made two trips to the zoo this past month and it has becoming a favorite destination. I'm old enough to understand what I'm looking at and as you may have seen in past posts, I'll do my best to imitate any animal you want.

'Nose' is definitely my favorite word the past couple weeks. In fact, there's a good chance that I'll point right at yours and say "nose" without being prompted. Other fun words include: Balloon, bubble, noodle, and please. And Mom and Dad started cracking up last night with my attempt at saying "garbanzo bean."

Favorite foods this month: Apples - I love to hear the crunch when chewing; hot dogs - a special treat, and potato salad. In fact, I couldn't shovel the potato salad in my mouth fast enough when Dad made it last weekend.

Special treat

We stopped at McDonald's for a treat on the way home from Home Depot on Saturday. For the first time ever, Mom and Dad ordered me something: A cup of water!

And I was an expert at drinking it (as soon as we got home)...

Rooster

Not a lot of pictures lately, so we'll share another little video clip. Pretty sure this one will only interest the grandparents. Just me being goofy last weekend...

Dishes

Video clip today!

Let me set this up for you: Mom had friends over last night and they were eating and relaxing on the back patio when Dad and I arrived home from grocery shopping. He left me with the ladies while he unloaded the car and then came out to bring me inside for bedtime. Mom and the ladies had been letting me snack off their plates (chicken and cheesecake pieces) and I was able to show them how to get every last bit.

Thanks to Lydia for the quick recording job!

Dear Grandmas: Mom and Dad would like you to know that they did not teach me this. The rule when I'm eating in my high chair is that the plate must stay on the tray.

Turn it off

You've got two seconds to get that thing out of my face.

Lunch trick

Dad left the kitchen for a second while I was eating this past weekend. He came back and caught me in the act...

This is the "so-proud-of-myself" smile.

Furniture

I found a luxury fur bench to relax on the other night. It's heated and moves gently up and down.

Park

Finally convinced Dad to let me try the big slide on Saturday!

How much is too much?

Got my fill of baseball on Saturday:

Dad and I walked over to Regis for their last games of the season in the afternoon...

About to call Mom to tell her about the game she's missing!

It was extra fun because my buddy, Jake, came to watch, as well!

And then that evening, we all went to the Rockies' game!

I lasted until the 7th inning stretch and stayed up until 9:45 pm. That's a record!

Stats

I had my 1.5 year checkup at the doctor's yesterday. Everything went well. The two shots didn't even bother me that much. Just a few quick tears.

My stats:

Weight: 25 lbs, 5 oz - 81st percentile
Height: 31 inches - 24th percentile (but still more than half of Mom's height!)
Head size: 19 inches - 93rd percentile

More baseball

I took Dad over to campus this past Saturday so he could watch some of the baseball game. They've only got a few games left this season so we're trying to take advantage of them while we can. We stayed for about an hour and a half!

My bleacher seat that I use at the Buffs' basketball games comes in very handy at the baseball games, as well.

Just like Mom: I'll hang out a lot longer if you pack me a snack and drink!

 Front row!

Watching the visiting team celebrate.

My baseball vocabulary continues to grow: Foul ball, strike, and out are all words I enjoy saying.
And of course I throw my arm back when I say 'out!'
