It's that time of the year again. And this year John is tall enough!

3 years, 7 months & 1 year, 4 months
I exclaimed from the backseat last week, "We are just growing up so fast!"
Our pictures will be a bit delayed for this month's post because Mom and Dad are still out of town.
However, we can still do the monthly write-up!
John is growing so fast! He completed the transition to a new classroom last week. He's now in a class of eight kids ranging in age from 16 months (John) to just about three. It's the same classroom I was in when I first started at school so we're all excited to see the same teachers on a regular basis again. One of John's teachers will always speak Spanish, as well.
John's listening and following instructions skills have taken a great leap this past month. He's very good at following requests from Mom or Dad. We're starting to hear a few more words, too. The teachers in his old classroom love the way he says, "crackers." He seems to say "thank you" when I give him toys and he's an expert at saying, "Dad."
Several doors at home still remain closed at all times. John would love to walk downstairs by himself or unspool an entire toilet paper roll if given the chance!
My development has made a bit of a leap this past month, as well. I now love to greet my best friend, Reese, with a big hug each morning. And last week three friends were playing ring-around-the-rosie when I walked into class and I said, "Hey! You didn't wait for me!" In the past I would have been fine changing my shoes and watching the fun until I was encouraged to join in.
Last week Mom, Dad and I got up early on a Friday morning to head over to the hospital for an MRI and CT scan. We're trying to find out if there's enough growth in my hips to do a surgery in the fall. We don't know the results yet because Mom and Dad are out of the country at the moment and then our doctor is out of the country when they get back. We'll update you when we know more.
Another health topic: I've had several ear infections this past winter and there is some fluid that just doesn't want to drain out of my ears. The solution: Tubes! Dad had them when he was a kid and I'll get mine in mid-June. A note for Grandma Linda and Grandpa Rick: They're way easier than when Dad was a kid. The only thing I'll not be allowed to do is wash my ears with really soapy water. Swimming and all other activities are just fine.
Onto more fun topics now...

MRI
Mom and Dad took me over to the hospital for an MRI last week. We'd like to know if there's been enough development in my hips to justify more surgeries this fall. We won't hear about the results of the MRI until mid-June when Mom and Dad meet with the doctors, but it was a fun adventure! I did great and we were home by lunchtime.

Ballgame
Rockies' game last Saturday night! Mom had a work event and we all got to sit in a suite! Well, John didn't do much sitting, but it was a perfect space for him to run around with our cousins.
Snacks!

Climbing
On Saturday, Dad watched John walk into the bedroom, grab an empty laundry basket, drag it to the dining room, flip it over and climb up to my booster seat.
John had no idea anyone was watching him.

Cheese
The weather was a bit cool on Saturday, so we kept busy with mostly indoor activities.
Like making cheese for our pizzas later that night...

Out for a stroll
It's a video! Not super captivating footage today, but we received a request for some footage of Johnny walking around. You'll hear my voice in the background hollering while taking a bath! And Dad was trying to remain patient while repeatedly asking John to stop chewing on Keillor's Nylabone!

Chicken airplane soldier
We're low on blog content this week, so Dad grabbed a few shots of me at swim lessons last night. I was working on my elementary backstroke. Our teacher uses a three part technique: Chicken - Airplane - Soldier.
