5 years, 4 months & 3 years, 1 month

Monthly picture time!

Excitement from this month:
  • Watching a lot of the Winter Olympics
  • Swim lessons - we're both in the same class now
  • Snow! We got to play outside in it a few times (it's gone now)
  • A lot of Buffs and Regis basketball - now it's onto baseball and softball season!
Monthly questions were asked of John first so he wouldn't copy big sister's answers:

John
  1. What's your favorite part about waking up? Uhhh...hmmm...don't wake up.
  2. If you had $20, what would you do with it? Put it my dinosaur bank [he then ran to the bank to make sure we knew what he was talking about]
  3. What's your favorite book? Go Dog Go [this kid is consistent!]
  4. What is your favorite word? Batman
  5. What two things do you like about yourself the best? I don't know...silly and tall [after some prompts]
  6. If you could outlaw one vegetable, what would it be? Zucchini
  7. How old do you have to be to be a grown up? Ummm...five!
  8. If you could eat one food everyday, what would it be? Pears and salad.
  9. What was your favorite Winter Olympic event? Uhhhhhhhmmmm...ummm...uhhhh...ummm...hmmmm [this went on for a while]...luge
  10. How many gold medals are you going to win? I don't know. [Then holds up a hand with five fingers]

Tess

  3. What's your favorite book? Mercy Watson [that's a series]
  4. What is your favorite word? Blue

We received a little snow for our day off on Monday and we got to work before breakfast!

Dog show

We were all off from school and work on Monday so we made our annual trip over to the dog show again. We got sidetracked by arts and crafts immediately, but eventually saw some dogs.

Haircut

John tried to save us a trip to the barber and cut his own hair last Friday. Dad took him to Great Clips on Saturday morning and our regular stylist said there wasn't much for her to work with in terms of fixing it. So we'll just have to wait it out!

Maybe a bit more around the sides next time, Johnny!

How to exhaust kids

Erin took us to an indoor trampoline place on Saturday and it was amazing!

After an hour of jumping.

Enjoy a mishmash of clips!

Roberto

Last summer we were at Chipotle and Dad recognized one of the Regis University basketball players also eating supper. He pointed out the player, we got excited, and that was the end of that. Until the player came over to Dad and said, "Do you live near Regis? I think I see you on campus."

Long story short: His name is Roberto and he's the most polite and friendly guy ever. Whenever he sees us on campus he goes out of his way to come over and visit.

Last Saturday, we went to see the Regis ladies play at Colorado Christian University. During halftime, the Regis men's team arrived (they were playing CCU after the women) and the entire team sat down in the three rows behind us. Roberto was excited to see us and sat right behind us.

John was being a little shy so he sat on Mom's lap at one point. Roberto was chatting with us and asking about the ladies on the court.

Roberto: "John, who is your favorite player out there?"
John: "Mary."
Robert: "Cool! She's really fun to watch."

Dad: "Johnny, tell Roberto who your favorite player on the guys' team is."
John: "No."
Dad: "Come on, who is your favorite?"
John: [Head shake]
Dad: "Oh, come on, bud, don't you have a favorite on the men's team?"

It is hard to describe the look, but John turned around and looked right at Roberto clearly conveying he was looking at his favorite. It was perfect.

Central

Dad and I happened upon a little scavenger hunt sort of event at the Central Library last weekend. We got to complete five space-related missions on five different floors of the library. We were eventually led to a big tub of slime!
