Lazy Sunday

Special treat for Sunday: Both Keillor and I were allowed on Mom and Dad's bed together (as long as we behaved nicely).

Here's Keillor showing me how to lay quietly on the bed.

But then he couldn't resist the baby toes so close to him!

Eight months

Dad and I were out of the house early this morning on our first-ever jog together. The directions that came with our jogging stroller said that babies should be 8 months old before we actually get to go for a jog. And I hit that mark today! It was pretty fun. I just played with my toys while Dad did all the work.

Here are my 8-month photos with Keillor pup...

I still love to smile when the camera comes out.
And it was Keillor who wouldn't cooperate at all this month!

And here we're both refusing the listen to Dad.

What an exciting month! I am very good at sitting up now. In fact, I like to show Mom and Dad how well I can sit up almost all the time. They get a bit annoyed when I keep doing it while having a bottle, though!

Since I can't crawl yet, I love just sitting on my tummy time blanket surrounded by toys. Keillor usually joins me, but he has different toys. I enjoy tummy time most of the time, as well.

Now that we're in the middle of summer, I enjoy spending time on the porch with Mom and Dad. On some nights I even get to eat dinner outside. I enjoyed a lot of new foods this past month. Current favorites: Cauliflower, sweet potatoes, corn, and any fruit. I'm getting pretty good at feeding myself the small puff treats, too. Keillor is upset about that because there aren't many falling on the floor for him any longer.

Other things I've enjoyed this past month: Being tossed in the air by Dad, sitting on Dad's shoulders, being shoved in the stroller towards Mom or Dad (makes me squeal with laughter) and my first hike.

Happy hour

We went out for happy hour on Saturday to celebrate Joe's birthday. I enjoyed myself and got to stay up past my bedtime!

Sitting next to my future playmate, Isaiah (and his mom, Sara).

I love my toy saw. Checkout the no-hands approach!

Dad says I'm welcome to try this beverage when I'm 35.

Face plant

It was bound to happen sooner or later. Unfortunately for Dad, it happened on his watch. He sat me in my bean bag chair while he turned around to get my tummy time blanket and I decided to demonstrate how well I can sit up quickly. Well, my butt slid down the bean bag chair, my feet hit the floor, and my big head toppled right over onto the living room floor. I really only cried for a little bit and I have a nice shiner near my left eye as a souvenir!

Double stroller

Niko brought his 2-person stroller when he came over last week. I got the front seat!

Strawberries

I tried strawberries for the first time the other day. Mom and Dad put them in a little mesh thing with a handle so I can chew and suck on it myself. Dad knew it was going to make a mess so they scheduled it for right before bath time.

Delicious!

Not quite getting it.

Oh, I see!

I was audibly slurping at this point. It was so good.

And then it was all gone.

My first hike

Mom and Dad took me up to Evergreen for a hike on Saturday. The first 45 minutes was very enjoyable, but then I got tired and hungry.

Faster, Dad, faster!

I felt better after we stopped for a snack.

Keillor was happy to have a break, too!
