Halloween gift

Grandma Linda sent me a little Halloween gift last week.

It was a paper envelope!
And a plastic hanger!

Birthday

We had a little celebration for my birthday last night...

 I opened presents.
(Here's me admiring just one of the fancy outfits from Aunt Judey and Uncle Chris.)

And of course Keillor got a new bone so he wouldn't be jealous.

Then Mom and Dad sang happy birthday to me.
(That's a blueberry pancake with cheese pieces. Two of my most favorite foods!)

And I was much happier when the birthday hat was removed!

One

I am one.

This is how much my dog loves me.

Summary from this past month: Our big Ireland trip took up a good portion of last month, of course. I proved to Mom and Dad that I'm a good traveler. I don't mind falling asleep on planes and I was never a hassle in the airport or while seated in the plane (I'll save that for when I can run around!).

I'll still eat almost anthing. Although if I don't like something I've now perfected the spit out technique. I also do that as a hint to Mom and Dad that I'm full. Keillor and I are best friends when I'm eating. I know he's always nearby and often look for him or reach out towards him while enjoying my meal. He knows that he can't take food out of my hand so I oblige him by dropping all sorts of stuff on the floor.

I can now give people high fives and I'll lean over to your cheek and give you a kiss if you ask me. I'm doing very well in physical therapy and I'm going to start crawling any time now. I'm very good at scooting backwards at the moment.  I'm also very good at pulling off my socks. And guess what? Our physical therapist actually says that's a good exercise for me!

From my one year check-up this morning -
Weight: 23 lbs 13.5 oz (92nd percentile)
Height: 28.5 inches (29th percentile)
Head: 18.25 inches (86th percentile)

And I received a special birthday present from the doctor: Six shots. Three in each leg!

Teeth

Now that a girl's got four teeth, she has to take good care of them...

Airplanes

I've spent some time on airplanes the past couple weeks!

Helping Mom review the safety instructions before takeoff (Belfast to Newark flight).

Our flight to Montana landed at 10:40 pm last Friday. I slept the entire time since it was well past bedtime. Upon landing, Dad woke me up, but then I immediately fell asleep again on his chest. He then handed me to Uncle Brady and I passed out again!

Enjoying the cottage

We really enjoyed our last few nights in Ireland when we got to stay at Al and Helen's cottage. We had fresh fish from the harbor in Kilkeel each night (Dad grilled it). And then we had freshly dug potatoes along with our fish on the last night (see our earlier post). I loved all of it.

Dad says it's too chilly to eat outside, but sitting by the giant window is just as good!

Playing on the floor with Mom.

And because a few of our regular readers have asked, here's a shot of Pete & Tracy's house:

It's the house on the right. Our room was the very top one!

And here's the backyard where Dad would play with Jake and Josh.

Backpacking

Sure, we had the stroller while in Northern Ireland, but my favorite mode of transportation was on Dad's back!

Strolling along

Pete and Tracy let us use their old stroller (pram, as they'd say) while we were visiting N. Ireland. It took me a little while to warm up to it, as you'll see. But I ended up loving it.

Our first morning in town.
Sure, it's 10:00 am here in Belfast, but it's 3:00 am in Denver. Can I go back to bed?!

Walking around Kilkeel down in the Mournes

Vacations are fun!

Vacation beds

We're back! Dad, Uncle Brady and I went to Montana this past weekend so Dad and Brady could do some fly fishing and I could hang out with Grandma Candy and Grandpa Rick. Mom was off to Chicago on her own trip!

Anyhow, we've still got some Ireland photos to catch up on...

Here's me pleading with Mom and Dad to try sleeping in a grown up bed:

Please?! I promise I won't roll out!

And then I felt like I should actually prove that I could doze off in the big bed:

See? I've got the right skills!

Hiking and potatoes

On our final weekend in Northern Ireland we got to go stay at Al and Helen's cottage down in the Mourne mountains. Pete and the boys came down to hang out with us on Saturday and we all went for a little walk in the woods.

Before our hike we struck up a conversation with the potato farmers that were working on the farm neighboring the cottage. They told us to go grab some bags and come back to take some freshly dug potatoes. Well, we were on the way for our walk so we told them we'd stop over when we got back.

When we returned to the cottage we found a not-so-subtle hint saying help yourself to as many as you want...

The farmers had dropped an entire crate right in front of the cottage's door!

We're home

We got home last night around 7:30 pm and Keillor was very excited to see us. I still don't understand this time zone thing, so I was up a few times during the night. Dad says I need to get my sleep schedule sorted out by this weekend since that's when we head to Montana with Uncle Brady.

We'll have many more pictures to share once we download them from the camera, but in the meantime, here's another from our time at the beach on the north coast.

That's my buddy, Jake, showing us around the beach.

Click the picture to see the larger version. You'll be able to see how excited I am!

Back from the coast

Well, we've spent the past few days cruising the north coast and we're back to Belfast now. My sleeping patterns are still a tad goofy (like staying up until 10:00 pm) but Mom and Dad say that's ok since it's vacation. We're all having a lot of fun!

Hanging out at the beach.

p.s. Dad says it's hard to resize our photos using the iPad so you'll have to deal with our pictures looking a little too large until he gets to a regular computer.

Jet lag

Mom and Dad keep telling me about this thing called jet lag. No idea what they're talking about. What's the big deal about wanting to play at 1:00 am?!

Another package

We received another package in the mail last week. It was a box!

We're off on our trip tomorrow so Dad's not sure when we'll be able to share photos with you. We'll try to check-in from Northern Ireland!
