2 years, 3 months & 0 months

Monthly picture time with our dog! We're a little late posting these because Mom and Dad were both busy on Thursday, so we apologize for the delay. The logistics of gathering us all together for a photo have changed a little bit and I'm sure the pictures will get more entertaining in future months.

It's very convenient that John was born on the 29th so now I can tell you about what I've been up to and what he's been up to on the same day each month (since I was also born on the 29th).

Monthly summary:
I continue to grow up more and more each day. I've started stringing lots of words together to form full sentences and even Mom and Grandma can understand me (most of the time). Heck, even Keillor listens to me when I tell him to sit and lay down (most of the time).

I love using my play kitchen each evening when Dad is using his kitchen and most of the time I tell him that I'm making a cake for dessert. I also help out with chores each morning and evening by feeding Keillor. My only fault is that I sometimes give him too much food.

I love going to school and I smile and laugh each day when I see my friends. My favorite school activities continue to be painting and eating. At least that's what I tell Dad on the way home most days.

Toilet training is getting better and better. I'm good at going in the toilet, but still not so good about telling someone I need to go.

As for physical therapy, my focus this month is on my abs and butt. I've got six different exercises to do each evening and most of the time I enjoy them!

Of course the big change this month was the arrival of John. I love him. And I want to hold him all the time. My only breakdown (so far) happened yesterday when Dad had to take him away from my lap for a diaper change. I didn't like that one bit.

John seems to mostly enjoy eating and napping at this point. He doesn't like to sleep at night yet and he loves cuddling with Mom. We had a nurse visit us this afternoon to see how everyone was doing (they do that for all newborns with our Kaiser health plan) and she said everyone is great. At this point, they like to see newborns gain at least 1/2 to 1 ounce per day. Well, in the past day, John has gained 1.5 ounces. That baby brother likes to eat!

A number of people have asked what we're going to call him. Our answer so far: Whatever you want. John, Johnny, and JJ seem to be the front runners. I like to call him Baby John or Buddy, of course.
