2 years, 7 months & 4 months

Monthly picture time! Of course it started to rain just as we were heading outside for better scenery. We settled for hanging out in the kitchen...

An easy target for Keillor!

Big Sister to the rescue!

My little brother gets more fun to hang out with everyday! He likes to lie on the floor in the living room while I bring him toys. And he really loves to sit upright wedged into the corner of the couch so he can see what's happening (or to sneak a peak at the TV which he loves to stare at). My job is to holler at Mom or Dad if he starts to tip over!

He sleeps pretty well at night, but still wakes up at about 4:00 am for a snack. Then he'll fall back to sleep until the rest of us are ready to wake up.

John's an expert at rolling from his stomach to his back, but not the other way yet. Although sometimes he kicks his legs so much that he's bound to rollover one of these times! His favorite activities include eating, smiling and gazing up into the trees.

I've had a very busy month, as well. I seem to come home from school each day with a funny story (or two or three). I'll just share a couple stories so that we've got them recorded:

Mom took me to the art museum last weekend and while we were in the car she asked me who my favorite friend is at school. Of course I said Maria (one of my teachers) so then Mom asked me who my favorite kid friend is. I quickly said, "Ricardo!" Then I was quiet for a moment and added, "kissing is for moms and dads, hugging is for friends."

I'm beginning to show a little bit of a 2-year old's attitude, too! Dad and I were at church last week and it was time for communion (or to go get bread, as I like to say). Well, he didn't give me enough warning when it was time to actually walk up front, so I threw my version of a tantrum in the center aisle (no noise, just going boneless) so Dad left me there. And that's where I chose to stay until the very end of the service! Luckily it's a small church and everyone knows me, so no one cared at all.

My favorite activities lately include playing with my kitchen, stuffed animals and my brother. Often all at the same time. I love taking care of my animals and I try to include them in most of my activities. The other night I was hugging my puppy and patting his head and I told Dad, "Puppy is upset! I'm holding puppy until he settles down. It's ok, puppy, it's ok." I also really enjoy going for walks around campus and I had a great time riding my bike the other night. I'm starting to get the hang of it! Dad and I also registered for swimming lessons again. They start in a couple weeks.

The big news for the upcoming month: Cousins Wren and Zoe are moving to Colorado! Mom and Dad keep telling me this, but it won't sink in until I actually see them, I suppose.
