Basketball nap - again
So napping at basketball games has become quite the habit recently. This one was in Boulder with about 8,000 loud fans.
He rallied during the second half just in time for a photo opportunity!

Puppy
Neighbor Mike is getting a puppy in two weeks and she came to Mike's house for a visit on Friday (along with her brother). They are so little that there wasn't much playing - just a lot of sleeping!
Ellie - 4 weeks.

Regis Santa
Regis hosted their annual tree lighting ceremony last week complete with a choir, hot chocolate, gingerbread houses, and more. John didn't earn the opportunity to build a gingerbread house (poor choices at dinnertime) so he and Dad found some different fun while Mom and I built and ate a gingerbread house.

6 years, 1 month & 3 years, 10 months
We got up early for pictures today!
Monthly questions:
For John -
1. Why do you keep falling asleep at the Regis men's games? Because I am tired!
2. What makes you happy? Toys and books.
3. What have your friends been up to? They've been working with me. Nothing else.
4. If you could grow anything in the yard, what would it be? Carrots and tomatoes and some broccoli.
5. If you had a pet dragon, what would you name it? Seattle. No actually, Christmas. He's nice to me and he lifts me on his back and he flies away from the bad people and then he puts me down.
For Tess -
1. If you wrote a book, what would it be about? Mazes.
2. What makes you happy? Johnny!
3. Pretend you're a chef. Tell me about your restaurant. What foods would you serve? Pasta, pizza, that's it.
4. What bugs you? Johnny because when he...ummm...asks me questions like a million times. Just that.
5. What would you do if you made the rules at home? Eat candy all day!
Happy!
Sad.
Goofy!

Regis men
John and Dad walked over for a bit of the Regis men's game on Saturday. John's favorite women's player mentioned after the game, "At least he doesn't fall asleep at our games!"

Regis women
The Regis women's basketball team finally had their first home game!

Home Depot building days are usually only once a month, but they offered a special one this past Saturday so we took advantage.

Standoff
Or more accurately, this was a sit-off. Neither of them was giving an inch. The rest of the couch was available!

We need to write these things down
Funny things John has said recently...
#1: "Rain, rain, go away. Come back another soon."
#2: While riding in the car a few weeks ago - "Uh oh, Dad. There's a police officer. Slow down or you'll get a ticket. And then you can go to the Rockies' game!"
[Hasn't quite realized that there are different types of tickets!]
#3: We're all into knock, knock jokes recently. Here's one John told on the way to Boulder for the basketball game -
John: "Knock knock"
Dad: "Who's there?"
John: "Ummmm...tree!"
Dad: "Tree who?"
John: "Why did the tree cross the road? To get to the other side."
#4: It snowed last Sunday and Dad wanted to make sure John's feet were dry at church -
Dad: "John, please don't wear those sneakers to church."
John: "I want to!"
Dad: "Nope, I know you're going to drag your feet through the snow on the way to the car and then you'll have wet feet at church."
John: "That's my choice."

Regis basketball
John and Dad went to the first Buffs' game last week and then the first Regis game last weekend. The Regis game wasn't as exciting, I guess (see below for evidence).
First half.
Second half.

Snow
Last weekend was our first snow worth enjoying. The fellas took advantage of it.
Note: The sledding hill is way safer than it appears! There is a huge dip at the bottom which prevents the sleds from going too far.

School assembly
The kindergarten and first grade classes hosted the first community circle gathering at school last month. We performed a song related to our current unit which was all about toys, play, and sportsmanship!
