John really wanted to sit on my lap while Dad read books the other night. You can see how thrilled he is...

2 years, 5 months & 2 months
Sorry we didn't get this posted yesterday, but at no point were all three of us awake and in the same place at the same time. So the group photos had to wait until today!
Holy cow. We've had a busy month! John is settling into a little bit of a routine and I still love having a baby brother!
My conversation skills have taken a giant leap this month. Although, it's only with Mom and Dad this past week. When someone else asks me a question, I tend to answer with a Donald Duck sort of quacking sound. Very cute, but also a little annoying when Dad is trying to get me to say something to someone.
Mom and Dad had their quarterly conference with Patti (my lead teacher) a couple weeks ago and they learned that I'm a little bit bossy at school. However, the "advice" that I give my classmates is always correct, according to Patti. For instance, Kataleya got up early from breakfast recently and I told her she needed to sit back down. Technically, I was right! So now we're working on being a little more polite with my delivery.
I even like to give Dad advice. He was modeling a new pair of pants one morning this past week and he commented that they're a little bit long without shoes on. I replied with, "Roll them up." See? That's not bossy. That's helpful!
John continues to be a great little brother. He's gained a ton of weight over the past couple weeks and he's getting good at sleeping at night. Most nights he goes to bed when I go to bed (8 pm) and then he wakes up around 2 am for a snack and then back to sleep until 6:30 or so. Keep up the good work, John!
Both John and I have doctor appointments this coming week. John has his 2-month check-up (we'll post stats that afternoon) and I have a hip check-up. At my appointment, Dr. Novais will assess how my bones have been growing and most likely we'll schedule another check-up for 6 months from now. I still need to have surgery on my right hip, of course, but it probably won't be after this check-up.
Speaking of hips, Dr. Novais asked for John to come in for an ultrasound to make sure his hips are healthy. So Mom, Dad and John went over to the hospital for that last week. The result: His hips are great.
Big change coming next week: Mom goes back to work on the 6th and then Dad gets to take over with John for several weeks!

Foot race
I was in the backpack on Dad's shoulders when Owen, Ryal, and Keillor were racing during their visit last week. Norge captured one of the races from the other side of the field. I absolutely loved it and kept asking all three of them to do it again!
Ryal and Owen were given a healthy head start and the pictures tell the rest of the story...
As with all of the photos on our blog, you can always click on them to see a larger version.

Softball season over at Regis has started. Dad and I went over there twice a couple weekends ago for lunchtime picnics!

Back to the museum
I took a day off of school last week when Ryal and Owen (and parents) were visiting and we all went over to the Museum of Nature and Science.

Cabela's
We made a family trip to an amazing place last week. There were animals and all sorts of other stuff to play with. I can't wait to go back!

Green Frog
I have been teaching my stuffed animals lots of things lately. This morning I let my puppy help pick out my outfit and then I showed Green Frog how to dish up Keillor's breakfast.
Brackets
This year I was old enough to tell Dad who I wanted to win each match-up. I was all for the Wisconsin Badgers until they met a school called Buffalo.
Grandma Candy also let me make her picks this year. For that bracket, Dad only read the mascots to me. So her Final Four has a Turtle playing a Badger and a Cowboy playing a Bison. Picking based on mascots was way more fun!
