Well, this will be a new monthly experience. It's usually hard to get two of us to sit still and now we're adding a baby to the mix! These are the best you get for this month:
At this point I was saying, "It's OK, Baby John."
When in doubt, just kiss him!
What a month of growing for everyone!
Baby John continues to gain lots of weight. He loves to eat! And he loves to be close to Mom. His favorite activities include ones where he's in his car seat and moving. So car rides on the freeway or walks with Dad, Keillor and me are at the top of his list.
John still wakes up several times a night, but he's getting more consistent in terms of which times he wakes up. And Mom and Dad have just started to feed him from a bottle so that means I'll get to help with that pretty soon!
I've had a very full month myself. I absolutely love being a big sister and I kiss and pat John's head every chance I get.
My language skills have taken a large leap recently. I like to use full sentences and tell stories especially when we're in the car. Dad is still better at understanding me so he often acts as the translator for Mom. My favorite sayings over the past couple weeks: "Oh my goodness goodness!" or "Oh my goodness gosh!"
I also like to knock on the bathroom door when Dad is in there and ask, "Do you want to build a snowman?" You won't find that as funny if you haven't seen Frozen, of course.
Three weeks ago I started swimming lessons! Dad and I head over to the pool every Tuesday and Thursday evening. At this stage it's just getting used to the water, singing songs, and splashing around (in Dad's arms the whole time). I'm getting good at floating on my back and I like to "jump" off from the pool edge into Dad's arms, too.
Swimming is my favorite new activity this month, but a close second would be sledding with all of our recent snow. Right now the front yard is a big enough hill for me, but there are rumors that we're going to a larger hill over on the Regis campus next time!
Basketball season (both the Buffs and Regis) is rapidly coming to a close, but Dad says baseball and softball seasons are right around the corner. I'm sure we'll have pictures for you!
