We need to write these things down

As Halloween was approaching, a lot of our walking and car time consisted of talking about costumes. I was fairly set on being a dinosaur, but still enjoyed thinking of other ideas. On our walk a week or two ago I told Dad that I wanted to be a hyena (then I growled), that John wanted to be a mermaid, and that Keillor was pretty sure he wanted to be a princess.

Mom had to fly out of town for work two weeks ago and left while I was still sleeping. When I woke up, Dad reminded me that Mom had to fly to Wisconsin for work. My two questions: "Oh, is she going to the Badger game?" and "Do you think she'll see Bucky Badger?"

Dad and I went over to church the other night to change the banners above the altar. Part of doing that involved stepping up on a chair. Upon seeing Dad do this I commented, "Oh! Dad! I don't like to see you standing on a chair. That is very dangerous!"

Last week Dad asked if I was going to share a cupcake with him after supper. I said, "Yes, after I eat four pieces of broccoli!" Dad said, "Four?!" And I replied, "No, five pieces!" while I held up five fingers. Dad agreed and I once again proved that I am an excellent negotiator.
